About Me
Hello, my name is Aashish Mankala and I am from Minnesota. I am an ENFJ personality type which means I am very thoughtful and idealistic. I want to create a positive impact for all the people who enter my life and take any opportunity that comes my way.
A little bit about me: I enjoy playing racquetball and pickleball; over the summer I go to parks and spend time playing and meeting others. I find my inner peace by going to the gym and listening to a variety of music. In my spare time, I take time to learn and master coding languages while also working on personal projects and messing with code.
I currently attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I am double majoring in Data Science and Computer Science, aspiring to master and work in AI and Machine Learning. Here, I am a vital part of various student organizations including the F1 firmware team, the Data Science Club, AI at UW, and the committee Graphic Design for Engineering Expo. I am looking forward to exploring new languages including C++ and R and gaining internship and research experience.
During this past year, I was a Student Ambassador and Leader for BestPrep’s Minnesota Business Venture (MBV). As an Ambassador, I participated in setting up and proposing ideas for the upcoming MBV camp. Along with this, I volunteered at BestPrep’s Educational Forum—an event where individuals from various companies come to discuss local business issues. Further, I was in charge of a group of 16 high school students for a week where we had to plan and present a business plan to a panel of judges.
Another opportunity I had this past year was a Mentorship at Target Corporation where I shadowed a Software Engineer for three months. Throughout this mentorship, I learned various topics such as APIs, Kotlin programming language, and learned how the Target App functions behind the scenes. At the end of this Mentorship, I created a final project using Anvil, designing a mock website for an online clothing store using Python.
